Our program

Hispanic Heritage & Cultural Education

Preserving history, celebrating identity, and building understanding across Delaware.

Indigenous dancers presenting a cultural tradition during a Delaware parade

Nuestras Raíces provides education on Hispanic, Latino, and Indigenous cultural inclusion to individuals, schools, community organizations, businesses, and government agencies. We honor Delaware residents who identify with Indigenous peoples and living traditions—including Inka and Quechua communities of Peru, Mexica/Aztec communities of Mexico, and Taíno/Arawak communities of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Federal recognition is a legal designation; its absence does not erase a people’s history, identity, cultural continuity, or presence in our community.

  • School and community cultural education
  • Indigenous advocacy, visibility, and cultural preservation
  • Heritage celebrations, speakers, and cultural ambassadors
